The most read blog I have EVER done is about relationships and the Solstice Points. I will include it at the bottom of this blog. If- in a compatibility, a person's planets hits one of the other party's solstice points, it is a strong connection. The flavor depends on the nature of the planets involved.
Knowing people are interested, I thought I would work with major transiting planets, their degrees and their Solstice points (which I will refer to as SP). ..
I will give you the SP following the transiting degree. If you have planets with 2 degrees of an SP. you will feel the energy of SP's the transiting planet. The how, what and ways we can discuss as you find them.
Check your chart and see if you have any activity. Frequently a chart does not look active until we add Solstice points. I suspect most of you have your charts, so it will be an easy task.
I will encourage you to comment and ask questions.. Please remember to look at your Arabic Parts and midpoints . I am a devotee of Arabic Parts. Often they can be responsible for much that goes on.
Here is the list. I am using this time only the major planets. Beside each planet will be the present transiting degree and then its Solstice Point (SP). I did round off the numbers to make it easier. The orb needs to be tight.. 1 to 2 degrees. It is more powerful if it is less. .
Jupiter: 4 Aries 28; SP. 26 Virgo
Saturn: 16 Libra 55; SP 14 Pisces
Uranus: 28 Pisces 37; SP 2 Libra
Neptune 28 Aquarius 16; SP 2 Scorpio
Pluto 6 Capricorn 46; SP 24 Sag
Scatter and find your charts and let's start talking.
Here is the original blog with a comment from Dr. Z, an astologer. The original blog was part of the relationship series.
Original blog
I am now going into something I became aware of as a new astrologer. Solstice points exist for every degree of the zodiac. Each planet in your chart has a Solstice Point.
I have always been a relationship astrologer and I have seen much suffering as people try to work through painful ties, with or without the person.
I would look at the chart, turn it upside down, shake the chart,(that did not help) do a composite maybe, though that was a new technique, for the purpose of the tie ,and then still unanswered. Sometimes nothing made any sense.
Then I discovered Solstice Points. Every planet has one. Every degree has one.
Have you ever been im a relationship and could not clear, but there "seemed" to be not a strong enough astrological tie to make you, they or someone act this neurotic? We all have. Hence the Solstice Points. Look to them.
I had a girlfriend after centuries could not get out of this relationship. Years and years of story. Contemporary thinking was beginning to look at everything through the term of addictions. It was quite chic, hip thinking. I did not buy addiction to someone as an answer.... She was Libra; he was Pisces.
Then I discovered Solstice Points, The Solstice Points for Libra are always in Pisces. if there is a hit within one degree, you have a hook and eye, with two charts.
That is when I found out about the power of the Solstice Point. often there is more than one in enduring, even if not easy relationships. Also events can result when a planet hits any of those solstice points, making for a lot of change that might not really happen otherwise.
She was a 17 degree Sun in Libra. He was a 13 degree Sun in Pisces. That was a direct hit. What happens is you take one planet, like Venus in Pisces at 10 degrees. One knows the solstice point is in Libra but what degree. Just subtract, the planet in question from 30, and you have the degree...so a 10 degree Pisces Venus would be........................you fill in the space. Then you have the Solstice Point. Look below for the answer.
Is anyone familiar with the system? I will give you the signs that are connected and let you figure this out. I suggest you keep a list of these points on your planets and see what happens with events and check out any relationship. Let's keep it simple and focused on just this.
Cancer-Gemini.Leo TaurusVirgo-AriesLibra-PiscesScorpio- AquariusSagittarius-Capricorn
Oh that 10 degree Venus in Pisces has its Solstice point at 20 Libra.

Solstice Points / Antiscia - in Relationship AstrologyHomage to friend Jacqueline
A Few Thoughts On The Matter
I admit it... when it comes to Relationship Astrology I've long been guilty of choosing to ignore an interesting methodology based on an extension of the ancient astrological usage of Solstice Points (or Antiscia).
As a psychological (archetypal) astrologer regularly utilizing the depth psychology concept of the "shadow," one of my lamer excuses for having ignored Solstice Points in Relationship Astrology was that I just plain couldn't get past their original name's (antiscia) meaning: "opposite shadows."
However, after a recent brief discourse with relationship astrologer, Jacqueline Bigar, I felt it necessary to honestly reaccess and rethink my attitude toward the usage of Solstice Points in Relationship Astrology.
Yep! It would seem that even old dogs - such as myself - are (on the very rare occasion) capable of learning new tricks.
Solstice Point Theory and UsageIn traditional astrology, Solstice Points were (and are) used, in part, to reveal potential hidden connections between planets in the birth chart."At some unknown date the philosophy of 'opposite-shadows' or 'reflective-degrees' was incorporated into astrology in the belief that each degree of the zodiac has its own counter degree, mirroring its distance from the solstice axis on the opposite side of the chart. The solstice axis runs from 0° Cancer to 0° Capricorn; thus a planet at 20° Sagittarius will cast its antiscion to 10° Capricorn, both planets being an equal distance from the Sun's solstice point at 0° Capricorn." Deborah Houlding at Skyscript.co.uk
Greatly oversimplifying... when utilizing Solstice Points, the person's Solstice Points were then compared with their regular birth chart placement points looking for hidden connections only using the conjunction (potentially revealing easy hidden connections) or the opposition (potentially revealing difficult hidden connections).
I'm not going to go too deeply into the usage of Solstice Points in classical astrology for two very good reasons:
I'm lazyand because (after you're done here) I really want you to read Deborah Houlding's excellent article on the subject. In more modern times (and the purpose of my article) some relationship astrologers have been advocating a newer use of Solstice Points and including them in their favored bag of tricks...
Okay... okay... I've stalled around long enough... don't you think?
Here's The SkinnyIf you're reading this article, then you likely already understand that in regular "synastry" the typical cross "aspects" (such as the conjunction, square, opposition, sextile, and trine) between two birth charts are considered.
Here's where it (hopefully) gets interesting... as a reasonable and logical extension of the traditional use of Solstice Points, the Relationship Astrology methodology that utilizes Solstice Points is thought to potentially reveal hidden connections (not revealed in regular synastry) between two people.
Solstice Points in relationship astrology are treated as hidden, beneath the surface, connections between the charts of two people. When utilizing Solstice Points, one person's Solstice Points are then compared with the other person's regular birth chart points only using the conjunction (revealing easy hidden connections) or the opposition (revealing difficult hidden connections) and then vice versa. The two planets involved are able to "behold" each other.
Normally, only very close conjunctions and oppositions between one person's Solstice Points and the other person's birth chart placements are considered. However, being forever an iconoclast, I confess that I tentatively find myself willing to consider orbs as large as 4 degrees within the appropriate Zodiacal sign.
Solstice Point Signs FormulaIf, for example, the regular birth chart sign of a planet is located in the sign of Gemini - then the Solstice Point of that planet will always be located in the sign of Cancer. If the birth chart sign of a planet is located in the sign of Cancer - then the Solstice Point of that planet will always be located in the sign of Gemini.
If Leo - then Taurus; if Taurus - then Leo...If Virgo - then Aries; if Aries - then Virgo...If Libra - then Pisces; if Pisces - then Libra...If Scorpio - then Aquarius; if Aquarius - then Scorpio...If Sagittarius - then Capricorn; if Capricorn - then Sagittarius
Figuring out the particular exact degree within a Zodiacal sign however calls for a little extra math on your part...
Related Useful LinksRather than attempting to reinvent the wheel... struggling to adequately describe just what the concept of antiscia is and how it's been looked at and treated over the past 2200 years... I'm including a link to Deborah Houlding's incredible traditional treatment of the subject.
I'm also including a link to Cafe Astrology where they explain how to manually determine the exact placement of your Solstice Points. This will be helpful if you don't own any of the fancy smancy astrological software that's capable of calculating Solstice Points.
And finally... I'm including a link to a blog on the subject written by Jacqueline Bigar.
Classic Look at the Antiscia / Contra-antiscia - excellent article written by Deborah Houlding on the origins and rationales behind the concept of Antiscia. If you don't know squat about the concept of Antiscia, then you really should check out this article. If you "think" you know all about Antiscia, then you should definitely check out this article.
How To Calculate Your Solstice Points - if you don't own fancy smancy astrological software that will automatically calculate your Solstice (antiscia) points, then Cafe Astrology gives you instructions on how to do it manually.
