Eclipses really are no big deal unless one of your planets is hit by them and within 2 degrees. That is where it ends and begins. So pull back if you are nervous about the eclipse on July 7 or July 22. We are looking at a Lunar eclipse at 15 Capricorn (impacting 13 Cancer or Capricorn to 17 Cancer/Capricorn ) Translation: this is a Full Moon eclipse, so Full Moon energy will add to the impact of the eclipse that day, or days around it.
Eclipses tend to drain energy from people the day before and the day. Lunar eclipses, I have been told will impact you physically less if you eat food grown in the earth on the days around the eclipse. Bring on the potatoes...
Eclipses are about conjunctions and oppositions. Those planets hit in conjunction and opposition are most likely to be hit with the 2 degree range and this is a large orb. Trust me, as one who has worked with eclipses on people's chart a lot.

Okay, so no planets that will be hit, but my ascendant is at 17 degrees Capricorn. Will that be affected by the July 7th lunar eclipse? And if so, in what way? (I assume it will be something related to how people see me or tied to the expression of my ascendant, but is there any indication of what area of how people see me or what area of my life that will be affected? [if that's not too much to ask, here on your blog]).
I know from previous experience with you (readings) that you are exceptionally gifted, psychically. I've had several events play out in my life that you had no way of knowing about, but you named them, specifically. I'm not afraid of what you may or may not see. Eclipses are always Uranian in nature so trying to predict could be touchy.
The ascendant, midheaven, marriage house and nadir can all play into an eclipse, degree wise. The houses a little less so, as depending on the House system an astrologer could choose might change the houses.
What I can say though not immediately, you will go for a new look or projection. Events that could happen in the timeframe mentioned above, could also impact your life destiny, or point you there.
The eclipse also could cause somewhat of identity crisis but not long lived.

A literary agent I SOO felt would be my agent emailed with her decision: ‘due to the economy etc ….sorry no I can’t represent you at this time’. I have lost count of the number of rejections I’ve had from agents in trying to get my book out there but the last couple have hit me hard as they truly, apparently, loved my work and were corresponding with me for months but ultimately said no??!!
So to get this on a Lunar Eclipse that is conjuncting my direction in life, and how I appear to the world…I was really expecting the exact opposite kind of email at this time. I have no idea what it is I’m meant to be letting go of? The idea of having an agent? The idea of me being a successful author? My calling in life???? When I got the email I cried and cried and felt the kind of grief and heartbreak you’d feel if you just found out someone close to you had died. Today I am in a bizarre kind of calm zone, I just don’t know what to think. Any insights on what it is I’m supposed to be getting from this Eclipse would be sooo appreciated.

Where you are learning and grasping astrologu is wrong. For beginners..the descriptions of what you think ascendant /7th house axis is wrong as is the nodes on this axis.

Maybe Pisces/Fish, you were looking by accident at the impact of the July 22 solar eclipse rather than the July 7 lunar one.

Jacqueline, does the emotional tenor evident in Pisces/fish's reaction to the agent's rejection (as expressed in the post) indicate something relevant to the eclipse (regardless of the fact that the emotions are linked to her career)?

The answer bricklayer is a clear yes and no. From what I can tell no planets were hit, simply ascendant and descendant.
The nodes have to do with your forthcoming karma but South node was also hit which refers to past life karma.BUT AND do remember they are also on the same axis.
When the ascendant is hit, and this is from experience, within 6 months an event occurs that forces the person to grow and change. It generally is life altering and for the better.
Timing is 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year and 18 months when the true impact of the eclipse can be seen. Sometimes there is a "clue" at the 1 week and 1 month marks, but one does not usually gather the true meaning at that point.
The problem with an eclipse on an ascendant..is that degree is more than likely to be off. How many docs look up at the clock the second the baby pops? Not many. They wait until the baby is okay and mom is okay.
If my husband and I did not watch the clock for each child, the doc would have put down a time minutes later, therefore making the ascendant bogus. But there is no better way than an eclipse on the supposed ascendant to determine if it is the right degree.
The big problem, is none of this has to do with the book. Or getting it published--wrong houses. So the wrong assessment. She is also looking to that day which generally does not produce the event.
This eclipse has to do with her spiritual and emotional development. It could also be particularly significant vis a vis a relationship existant or non-existant in her life.
Another problem is she has associated with letting go, like what am I suppose to let go of? That also is faulty thinking with the eclipse..letting go has nothing to do with the price of beans.
There will be evernts that will bring this woman closer to her North Node karma and ascendant, but they have not begun yet, or she might be missing them.
It really makes no difference but it is sad to see someone suffer and make something into what it is not. That is why I am so concern where she got this stuff. Certainly I hope not from another astrolger,

My understanding of Lunar Eclipses is that they often trigger an emotional letting go of something (be it a belief, habit, relationship etc) that has served its purpose in order to let something new and more in alignment with who you are in. So, that's where I got the 'letting go' thing. My understanding of ones North Node is that it represents your direction in life aka true north on a compass - which way your soul would like to be going this lifetime. My understanding of ones Ascendant is that it represents how you appear to the world. I could be completely incorrect, or maybe I've completely over analysed everything and concluded that 1 + 1 = 3!!! I really appreciate you straightening out any misconceptions I have!! I guess I just completely took it all on very personaly and emotionally, placing a lot of importance on an eclipse that happened so close to these two chart points, and in the moment of that particular rejection felt like I was slapped by a big wet fish (pardon the pun)!
Jacqueline I just saw your first question: the book I am trying to get an agent for is one I have had published with a very small publisher in another country, but am finding it very hard to get it happening here in the US with the considerable amount of restrictions my publishers have placed on the book for intl booksellers eg giving bookstores only a 20% discount rather than the preferred 40%. Hence my desire for a US publisher and thus US agent. I am feeling very limited right now with this small publisher, and just tring to break free. Uranus is currently going back and forward over my Mercury, 26 degrees Pisces.

No, eclipses bring events, and not on the day of the event , though sometimes one has a sense at 1 week or 1 month. They are Uranian in nature, totally surprising.

No North Node is where we need to go, this lifetime and often it is an effort, "not would like". But if the North Node is hit so is the South Node,,,which is in Cancer-triggering in this case all sorts of emotionalism and jumpiong to conclusions. So your issue is your south node in Cancer and the purprose of the emotionalsim.

The first house and ascendant is your personality, your projection and the seventh house is marriage house. Both Houses were involved in the eclipse. What is your status vis a vis a relationship?

LOL. Uranus will liberate your writing but most likely not your contract.
Uranus is the unexpected. You cannot "work" with uranus on breaking free. Uranus is the unexpected. You cannot harnass that.
A third house mercury is about writing. The ninth house is publishing and you have Saturn there which means let go of this push, and trust come late Fall if it is meant to happen it will. But forget it for now.

My goodness, Jacqueline thank you. It feels like you are just sweeping a brush through my head, clearing all kinds of information I have somehow completely got wrong!! I am in a wonderful committed relationship, took many years of self-healing to get there. We have been together nearly 2 years, great communication, great connection on every level, we say thank you every day and are both very conscious about creating a life together that is full of love, and helping others. We are in our late 30's, not married, but in a life committment looking forward to starting a family soon. We have been trying for a long time.

How do you handle the Cancer South Node in general?
I think I’m getting better at handling my Cancer South Node with age. I have had a tendency in the past to emotionally over-react to things and be over-sensitive however now it takes a lot to get me off centre – the theme of this post is an example. I have learned to recognise that if I have an extreme emotional reaction like that, then likely it is about something else entirely. Usually I can figure out what it’s about myself, but this time I just couldn’t and hence reaching out for some perspective.
I have a good, healthy relationship with my family, had a turbulent childhood and adolescence but in my 20’s was able to heal a lot of ‘dad’ stuff, disconnect from the few family members that had caused upset, and now I am surrounded by very positive, supportive family and friends. We mutually encourage each other to live our best life and follow our dreams. I have travelled the world many times since I was 20, lived overseas, always followed the call of my soul wherever it has guided me to go, or whatever it has guided me to do etc so I don’t resonate with Cancer South Node stuff that talks about feeling in a comfort zone close to home and family. We’re very close but in a ‘do what feels good for you’ way even if that means living half way across the world from each other.
I DO have a recurring pattern that feels very Cancer South Node: the bulk of my finances over the past ten years or so (ever since I started working for myself in various healing/creative roles) have been thanks to family money. I haven’t asked for any of this money, it has purely come by synchronicity whenever I’ve needed it be it an inheritance or gift or whatever. I would LOVE to be financially self-sufficient doing the work I love, and have made some progress on that front over the last few years, but still nowhere near what I would like and innately feel capable of. So I swing between feeling incredibly blessed and grateful, thanking the Universe for paying me in this unique way and feeling quite frustrated that even though I do attract abundance, the bulk of it is not money I ‘earn’ and would thus feel more proud of. I always feel I undermine the Universe’s generosity by feeling that way, nevertheless it’s how I feel. So now I come to the full circle moment of this post: the reason I felt so gutted by last week’s agent response was (in my admittedly incorrect thinking) I kind of felt that this Lunar Eclipse on my Ascendant and North Node would bring about events that would finally push me from ‘hiding’ from being empowered, self-sufficient, successful etc and move me into what I feel is my true energy: to step into my power, and be more self-sufficient, more successful etc. Hence I genuinely felt that this particular agent would be a green light forward, helping me open the door to my next phase of life, earning a good income with my writing, teaching, etc. I didn’t attract a healthy, life partner until I had developed a certain amount of emotional wholeness, so I have a feeling that I perhaps can’t attract the ‘business’ related partners I so want until I have developed my own inner something, knowing I can do it on my own for example. Thanks Jacqueline, just having this space to share is very healing.
p.s My mum was one of those women who took note of my birth time, so it is accurate – and a full 15 min earlier than the official doctor’s recorded time.
Career is a different matter from relationships. You keep putting career and discuss them as the first/seventh house axis.
